Fort Bend Music Center in Staffortd is proud to  present  Wendy Chopin for our first adult student spotlight.  Wendy has been receiving guitar lessons at Fort Bend Music Center for a year under the instruction of Doug Magness.  Her son Logan is also currently taking group piano lessons from one of our Yamaha certified instructors Miss Kat Kilpatrick. Wendy was inspired by her aunt to play guitar.  She owns an acoustic named Holly and is in the process of naming her brand new beautiful red electric.  Wendy grew up in New Orleans which explains her love for Jazz music, some of her favorites being Wynton Marsalis and Harry Connick Jr. Wendy also likes the White stripes, OK GO, the Black Keys and Pink. Wendy has performed in the past two FBMC recitals and will be blazing up the stage in this year’s Christmas recital as well!

Fort Bend Music Center in Stafford is gearing up for the upcoming school year. In addition to getting school supplies; make sure your student is signed up for their favorite after school activity. For quality music lesson in the Houston, Missouri City, Stafford and south west area look no further. We teach an enriching Yamaha curriculum that is well rounded for all age groups. Our new beginner piano classes that are open for enrollment are listed below. We will be implementing new Yamaha curriculum for our group drum and guitar classes.  Fort Bend Music Center Summer Camps in Stafford have been a great success! The Children have thoroughly enjoyed the different music classes. Children seven years and older enjoyed the privilege of learning piano, vocal, guitar and drums. Students four to six years old focused on piano, but were introduced to rhythm instruments and vocals. The summer camps are for one week, two and a half hours a day, Monday through Friday. We still have two weeks left in our July sessions. July 11-15^th is 10:00am to 12:30pm, and July 18-22^nd is 12:30pm to 3:00pm. Registration is still open for these dates, but space is limited! We look forward to seeing you and your family here!

Fort Bend Music Center Summer Camp registration is now open for enrollment. The summer schedule is posted under the new class schedule tab on the web site home page. Classes are available for musicians from 4yrs to teenagers. There are four weeks to choose from and we offer early morning and afternoon schedules for you to select from. Class sizes are limited and are filling fast! Summer Music Camp is a week long, Monday through Friday, for two and a half hours each day. Parent/guardian participation is recommended for musicians 4-6yrs old. Registration must be done in person and all classes are held at Fort Bend Music Center in Stafford 12919 S.W. Freeway Suite 160. Rock the Bend Jam night is back at Fort Bend Music Center in Stafford. We cordially invite all adult and advanced music students to join us June 9^th, 2011 from 8pm – 10pm at the center for an evening packed with music! This rhythmic jam assembly is free and open to the public and the more the merrier! Musicians always want an enthusiastic audience. We encourage you to bring your own guitar, bass, hand drum, sticks…etc.  We will provide amps, cables, keyboards, drum kit and microphones. Who knows, maybe you’ll eye an accessory you haven’t been able to find! If you’re gearing up for your own summer jam sessions Fort Bend Music Center also has tons of sheet music in stock and on line.
